With a deep-rooted passion for music and a journey defined by resilience, YASHIKO has carved out a style that blends influences from decades past with modern innovation. Born as Yashodhan Segaran (known as Yash), he grew up surrounded by the sounds of The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, and ABBA, thanks to his dad’s record collection. From an early age, music was more than just entertainment—it was an inspiration.

At 12, YASHIKO picked up the guitar and discovered a love for creating. Fueled by artists like Justin Timberlake, The Neptunes, and Eminem, he began recording covers on GarageBand and experimenting with production. Encouraged by his dad, he transitioned to DAWs like Logic Pro and Pro Tools. By the time he was in high school, he had written and produced his first album—an ambitious project that taught him the value of persistence and growth.

However, the journey wasn’t always smooth. Struggles with mental health and self-doubt marked his teenage years, but music remained his outlet and guiding force. Inspired by the raw vulnerability of artists like Juice WRLD and NF, YASHIKO channeled his emotions into songwriting, refining his sound with every track.

At 20, he took his passion to the next level, enrolling at Full Sail University, where he sharpened his skills and developed a clear vision for his career. Now, at 22, YASHIKO is focused on creating music that bridges genres and connects with listeners on a deeper level. 

With ambitions that stretch beyond his own artistry, YASHIKO aims to compose music for TV, compose soundtracks for film, produce hits for other artists, and write tracks across diverse genres. His versatility and dedication to his craft make him a dynamic presence in today’s music scene.

From heartfelt ballads to cinematic scores, YASHIKO’s music tells stories, breaks boundaries, and proves that perseverance and passion can create something extraordinary.
